In two competing press releases today, the Pacific News Center (PNC) reports that Senator Rory Respicio has "accused the GUASA of showing lack of respect". In a response, Calvo "cautions Respicio not to use his authority to suppress freedom of speech".
From his press release, Calvo evidently is backing up his supporters by saying that the government of Guam is not some "gestapo government" in response to Senator Respicio's remarks that the GUASA should be united with the efforts of other Guam groups to push for the "interests of all of us on Guam, and not just the special interests a few".
When looking at both press releases, it is clear who has EVERYONE's interests on Guam at heart, and that is Senator Rory Respicio.
Where was the "GUASA" when it came to their Republican allies in the United States House of Representatives blocking effort after effort to have war reparations paid to the people of Guam?
Where was the "GUASA" when the U.S. Navy was demanding seats on the Consolidated Commission on Utilities?
Where was the "GUASA" when the U.S. Navy was seeking to take away the Guam Raceway Track in Yigo?
